About Halloween
New Orleans treats Halloween as a second Carnival. There is no single official event on the night itself; the costumed crowd simply takes over the lower French Quarter and Frenchmen Street. The Krewe of BOO! parade usually rolls on a Saturday one or two weeks earlier.
The Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, which used to fill City Park on Halloween weekend, has not been held since 2019. See our note on its status.
