About nola.party

nola.party answers one question: when does New Orleans party? It is a calendar of the city's festivals, feasts and Carnival parades, built to be honest about what is known.

Some dates are certain years ahead: Mardi Gras is always 47 days before Easter, and St. Joseph's Day is always 19 March. Others are set by organisers, who announce them a few months to a year ahead. Many sites fill that gap by guessing. We show the usual pattern, label it as a pattern, and show a real date only once the organiser has published it on their own site, with the date we checked.

The site is independent. It is not affiliated with any krewe, festival, venue or the City of New Orleans, and it does not sell tickets. There is no advertising or affiliate linking on the site at present; if that changes, this page and the privacy page will say so first.

The calendar is rebuilt automatically every day. How the dates are computed and checked, and every source and licence, are on the methodology page.
