History
Nyx was founded by Julie Lea in 2011 and first paraded on 15 February 2012. It grew quickly into one of the largest women's krewes, with hand-decorated purses as its signature throw.
In 2024 the City Council removed Nyx from the 2025 schedule after problems that included too few marching bands. It was not on the 2025 or 2026 schedules, and the Krewe of Alla took the Wednesday-night slot. We have not confirmed whether it plans to return.
