About Crescent City Classic

The Classic has run since 1979 and is one of the larger 10K races in the country: the 2025 race sent about 18,000 runners and walkers onto the streets. The course runs from the Superdome through the French Quarter and up Esplanade Avenue to finish in City Park, where a post-race party follows.

Because it is tied to Easter, the race date is easy to predict, and in each of 2024, 2025, 2026 and the announced 2027 race it fell on the Saturday before Easter. Visitors that weekend should expect road closures downtown in the morning.
